Co-founders Workshop · format in development

You talk about the product every day. What about the two of you?

Between co-founders, tension rarely comes from the project. It comes from what was never said.

Neither mediation nor couples therapy for co-founders: time spent working on how you cooperate, when all is well and when things get stuck.

With a consultant, you learn to talk to each other differently: your visions side by side, how you function as a pair. You leave with:

  1. A one-page shared direction
  2. A cooperation sheet
  3. Two commitments to try
  4. A follow-up check-in
  • Two co-founders, one consultant
  • RELIEF preparation for each of you

No verdict on co-founder compatibility. Your vision isn’t deduced from your profiles: you’re the ones who put it into words. The cooperation sheet is not a shareholders’ agreement and does not replace legal advice. Your profiles are never shared with investors or third parties.

Fictional example A case built to illustrate the format. No real company or person.

Nordive, a fictional startup

At the start Product releases keep slipping, every delay ends in a tense discussion, and neither dares to say that the finishing touches weigh on both of them.

“We move fast, we see far, we’re aligned.”

The rules they agreed on

  • Every Friday, we tell each other what’s left to finish before talking about what’s next.
  • Before launching a new idea, whoever proposes it says what it will delay.
  • We decide together what “done” means, and we check it together before every release.

At the follow-up check-in The Friday check-in is holding. The definition of “done” has been simplified. Who owns the finishing touches is still to be decided: that’s the topic of the next conversation.

How it unfolds

How it works.

  1. Frame the question

What you want to build, and what made you choose this moment.

  2. Your visions side by side

Each of you puts yours into words. The gaps are examined, not judged.

  3. How the duo works

Where each of you puts your energy, where you take turns, where you risk waiting on each other.

  4. A real decision

A decision that’s genuinely waiting for you: a hire, a fundraise, a product priority, how you split roles.

  5. Your rules for cooperating

Who decides what, how to voice a disagreement, when to check in.

  6. Two experiments

Two concrete commitments to try, then a follow-up check-in.
